Music for a Summer's Evening

7.30pm Friday 14th July, St Clement’s Church, Edge Lane

For the first time, our Summer Concert will be held in the beautiful St Clement’s Church, opposite St John’s, on the corner of Edge Lane and St Clement’s Road.

This year, the choir and orchestra will be conducted by our former orchestra Leader, Denise Campbell and the choir will be accompanied at the piano by Emily Owen.

The performance will begin at 7.30, with a first half of shorter mainly traditional and folk songs from the choir, some accompanied by the orchestra and some by piano. It will include three folk song settings from John Rutter’s – A Sprig of Thyme and a return for a choir favourite in Gabriel Fauré’s, Cantique de Jean Racine.

There will then be a short interval, before a second half of Handel’s rousing anthem, Zadok the Priest and Antonio Vivaldi’s, Gloria (Rv 589).

We are very excited to announce our soloists for the Vivaldi will be Ella Moran, who will be appearing with us for the first time this year and Katharine Longworth, who was our Director of Music until 2019 and will be making a return to find out what life is like, on the other side of the Conductor’s stand!

Tickets (including interval refreshments) are £12 (Full) or £5 (Under 16s)

They are available by emailing your request to glorchorlton@gmail.com or calling 07563 504699

There are also a number of the Full Price tickets available via Eventbrite
